Naturally, this San Francisco magazine, which has been co-founded by Francis Ford Coppola, is about film – albeit the focus here is on the relation between film and literature. On top of new stories from talented authors, every issue presents a short story that has inspired a film. The current edition pays tribute to Edgar Allen Poe, as a founding father of the horror story, and his “Berenice” which is the inspiration for Coppola’s current film project “Twixt”. Further artistic contribution is made by the “Rodarte” sisters, who are very much on home turf by virtue of their enthusiasm for horror movies and the scarily beautiful costumes they created for the thriller “Black Swan”. Designing this edition they breathe a ghostly atmosphere into “Zoetrope”.
With scary short stories from Alexandra Kleeman, Jim Shepard, Ryu Murakami, Karen Russell and Edgar Allen Poe.
