The cryptic name of architects “51N4E” signifies their geographic Brussels coordinates. Located just there, they have been realizing projects worldwide since their foundation in 1998. Now, in “Double or Nothing”, they describe their attitude towards clients, briefings and demands. Their persistent questioning of the given and playful pushing for the best premises both follow the one goal to extend the architect’s realm of possibilities. Numerous sketches, drawings, plans and photographs provide an insight to the thoughts and processes of “51N4E” on projects such as ‘TID Tower’ in Albania, ‘Lamot Congress and Heritage Centre’ in Belgium, or ’50.000 Logements’ in France. Created under the art direction of Zak Kyes, this extraordinary publication has already received the “2011 British Book Design and Production Award” in the category “Best Exhibition Catalogue”.
