Clémence and Didier Krzentowski, founders and directors of the leading contemporary design gallery kreo, have been collecting lights for 30 years. “The Complete Designers’ Lights” is a detailed insight into their large collection that specializes on Italian and French design from the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s. Rare works by Paulin, Guariche, Castiglioni and Sarfatti are all included in this pictorial documentation of a collection based on enthusiasm rather than specific criteria. Besides the extensive photo material there’s also an in-depth discussion between Didier Krzentowski, the curator of Paris’ Musée des Arts décoratifs, Constance Rubini, and the journalist and design critic Pierre Doze. An essay by design and art critic Alex Coles focusing on the relation between light design and light art is also included.
