E.R.O.S. #7 – The Interior
Text in Englisch
E.R.O.S. the biannual journal of Eros Press publishes a wide range of fields under each issue’s theme. VII – The Interior draws together theoretical approaches of the rooms we live in. Essays about the inner sanctum, glimpses through keyholes, empty book dummies and the new interest of the art scene in the domestic interior accompanied by Melanie Bonajo’s photographs of “Furniture Bondage” and drawings of “Modern Interiors” by Nathalie du Pasquier.
The editor’s note leads us into this nearly all-text interior issue:
“Behind theses walls lies the available volume of the world allocated to me. Within it are those possessions I desire to live with. They are mutable. They can be hidden or revealed; sold or exchanged. They are embodied histories as much as they are commodities.(…) I have pored over countless images of other people’s homes, and assumed countless things about them. The world within the world that is the domestic interior is of infinite interest to me.”
