Real Review #6
€ 12,-

Real Review urges the reader to think what it means to be alive today. Created and edited by Jack Self, this curiously shaped piece is dedicated to the subject Just-in-Time, which is a relevantly recent production-strategy first developed by Toyota in the 1980s. The aim of Just-in-Time is to replace the Fordist Just-in-Case model that built set numbers of cars in the hope that they are eventually sold. Just-in-Time attends to a different logic where production is only executed once orders are placed. Nothing is produced unless there’s a clear need for it. Real Review explores the possibilities of using this specific mode in our relationships to the material world through commentary on the metrics of innovation, robots, racism and artificial hymens —to a level our human species is spared extinction.
